Titanic 100th Anniversary Events at Low Prices

There are special events lined up in conjunction with Titanic 100th anniversary which commemorates the sinking of the Titanic in North Atlantic Ocean, off Newfoundland on April 14 1912 to April 15, 1912. The ship hit the iceberg at around 11.20 pm on the night of April 14. By 02:20 am, the bow of the ship broke and sank as more than 1,500 people drowned due to death.  If you want to be a part of the 100 year anniversary of Titanic sinking, you can opt for any of the events which have affordable rates –

  1. The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, Halifax. The tourism website of Halifax states that it has ‘the largest and finest collection of wooden Titanic artifacts in the world.  An exhibition on April 12 will showcase the role of Halifax cable ship and their crew in the exceptional role they played in rescuing the Titanic survivors.  The price of the ticket to the Halifax museum is s $4.75 for adults before May 1 and $8.75 for adults afterward. For children ages 6 to 17 tickets are $2.75 before May 1 and $4.75 after that. Kids 5 and below get free admission. The other events include a wreath laying ceremony at Fairview Lawn Cemetery where 121 victims were buried, a nighttime walking procession and an interfaith service.  Lodging and accommodation costs for places around the site, from $70 per room per night to $135 per room per night.
  1. The Pigeon Forge and Branson – Both are ship shaped museums and are going to host major events commencing April 14. Guests can “experience what it was like to walk the hallways, parlours, cabins and grand staircase of the Titanic while surrounded by artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of the ship’s history and  destiny. Tickets to both Titanic Museum Attractions are available for adults for $20.68 U.S. and for children ages 5 to 12 for $10.77 U.S. Kids 4 and below have free admission.
  2. Belfast – This is the place where Titanic was built.   There is a new six storey Titanic Belfast Experience which opend on March 31 and claims to be the ‘world’s largest Titanic visitor attraction’. The cost of admission is about $20 per adult, $10 per child ages 5 to 16 and free for children under 5. The Titanic Belfast Festival, began March 31 to April 22,  which include Titanic exhibitions, tours, exhibition and plays.  You can get more information here, at www.titanicbelfast.com
  3.
